G5. Participant Carbon Footprint
Program for Business (Management, Finance, Accounting, Logistics), Engineering (Energy, Mechanical, Industrial) and other students
Ever wondered how big is your carbon footprint?
Interested in knowing what resources you'd consume if going to Florida
for a practical program with us? We do, so main objective of this
assignment is to perform a systems analysis of the Intelligentsia
program, determining the internal and external resource
implications of a participant's program in Florida for
varying durations (2 to 24 months) for participants
coming from various locations (Europe, Asia, Africa,
etc.) by first cataloging the Intelligentsia program and resources
consumption and then applying one or more of the analysis techniques
(carbon footprint, water footprint, LCA, emergy, etc.).
List of main tasks:
- Research existing methods for resources consumption quantification;
- Summarize findings and suggest methods how to apply to specific
case of III's program participants;
- Determine the carbon footprint of each program participant;
- Develop a general procedure for varying duration of the program
and varying destinations of origin for the participants;
- Quantify the different analysis techniques pros and cons and
document the findings in a comprehensive report;
- Create new and maintain existing related websites.
