Computer modeling is an important component of several research projects in which Intelligentsia is involved. Water, weather and other types of data is being collected through various field instruments. This data is being automatically delivered through telemetry system to near real-time online websystem, where from it is being used as an input into several computer models. Examples of computer models we are helping to develop and calibrate include nutrients load estimation in surface runoff, 3-D dynamic flow animations, sediments movement simulation in river geometries under changing hydraulic conditions, sediments depositions patterns creation, water demand growth projections etc.

List of main tasks:

• Get familiar with assigned research or modeling project objectives;
• Learn about used field data instrumentation hardware and software to understand main data collecting and feeding systems;
• Study technical manuals and online resources describing software environments used for various types of computer modeling;
• Attend field data collection trips;
• Analyze and report collected data;
• Input organized data into existing models;
• Test existing models and debug newly created updates;
• Calibrate computer models based on historical and newly collected data;
• Deliver summary reports on your findings and results.

I am interested in this project, when can I come?
Our projects are ongoing, so you can apply any time. If you are a non US student, make sure that you have enough time for obtaining your visa.

When should I buy a flight ticket to Florida?
Consider your travel agent "first minute" and "last minute" offers, as these might be way cheaper than ordinary tickets. We recommend buying a flight ticket only after you obtain your US visa though.
